How and When I Found My Voice

Do you have a vision for your future that just doesn’t go away? Do you feel like it is your destiny to do more than what you are currently doing? Do you resist the pull of that dream?

I don’t remember feeling a pull of purpose in my early adult years. I don’t recall spending too much time thinking about it. You see, for most of my life I was invisible–and I was okay with that.

Some people don’t understand why I consider myself a recovering ugly duckling. They cannot picture me (or remember me) as being uncomfortable in my own skin or doubting that I belong.

Yet that was my reality growing up and it lasted into my late 20s/early 30s.

In 1997, though, I had a life changing experience–a horrible, traumatic, embarrassing–life changing experience. Through this experience I discovered my voice, rediscovered a long forgotten love of creative writing, and found a compelling purpose for my life.

In this video I share how and when I found my voice. The year was 1997…

Do you have a defining moment or action that transformed your life? I’d love to hear about it in the comments section below.

P.S. I apologize to those of you who already saw this video on Facebook. I am still trying to figure out the various settings on my website, YouTube, etc. It’s so confusing!! 🙂
