5 Tips to Deal with Holiday Stress

Today I went live on my Donna Doyon Facebook page with 5 tips to help you deal with holiday stress. You can watch the video here. In a nutshell, here are the 5 tips:

  1. Watch clips of your favorite holiday movies (especially the funny ones) on YouTube. In the video, I shared a few of my favorites.
  2. Sing your favorite Christmas songs, religious songs, rock songs, country songs, rap songs or any songs! In the video, I sang one of my favorite songs (YIKES!)
  3. Find a spot of sunshine and just hang out in it for a few minutes.
  4. Walk. Five minutes of mall walking, parking lot walking, or around the building walking can do wonders to reduce your stress levels.
  5. Do the dishes. In the video I share how washing dishes puts all your senses to work (and restores order from chaos).

How to Stay Healthier Thru the Holidays

How to stay healthier thru the holiday

Overindulging… that is something that many of us do over the holiday season.

We forget that Thanksgiving is just one day, and we allow ourselves to feast for four or five days. Yikes! No wonder so many people gain weight these last weeks of the year.

Today I went live on my Donna Doyon Facebook page with 5 tips to keep you from hating yourself on January 1st.

Don’t Forget Your Goals Over the Holidays

In recent years, the holidays started starting earlier and earlier in the year. It can be easy to get caught up in the magic, miracles and madness of the holiday season.

Unfortunately, many times we lose sight of some important things in our life while we are dealing with holiday stress.

In this week’s goal setting tip, I remind you of something important that you probably forgot about as you get more involved in the holiday season.

Communicate Your Goals & Their Impact on Others

As much as we might wish the people closest to us (those living in our homes with us) could read our minds and our intentions… that just isn’t the case.

And as much as we’d like the people closest to us to support us in achieving our greatest dreams, oftentimes they don’t know what our dreams are OR how the changes in our actions will impact them.

In this week’s video, I share some thoughts on how to share with the people in your household about the changes you are making (so you can achieve your goals) AND how they can expect to be impacted by those changes.

Open and honest conversations will help you all have greater understanding of what’s going on. That will help you move forward with a lightness of heart that will help you keep moving toward your goals.

The Big Leap

In goal setting, as in life, our mindset plays a huge part in our level of success. I’ve been reading the book “The Big Leap” by Gay Hendricks. It is a powerful read and has the potential to change lives if we let it.

In this week’s video I share an overview of the first couple of chapters. I cannot do this book and the messages justice, but hopefully I make you curious enough to check it out for yourself.
