Don’t Forget Your Goals Over the Holidays

In recent years, the holidays started starting earlier and earlier in the year. It can be easy to get caught up in the magic, miracles and madness of the holiday season.

Unfortunately, many times we lose sight of some important things in our life while we are dealing with holiday stress.

In this week’s goal setting tip, I remind you of something important that you probably forgot about as you get more involved in the holiday season.

Ep044: Common Excuses for Not Pursuing Your Dreams

You have a vision for your future… things you’d like to accomplish or experience. You sit in your cozy chair, pull a soft, warm blanket over you, and just imagine…

You imagine what your life would look like… how you would feel… how you would act in this dream setting.

You sit. And you sit. And you sit.

Two weeks later, you are still sitting. Seven months later, you are still dreaming from your comfortable, protected place in the world. And a decade later, you barely recall the excitement you felt when envisioning that life for yourself.

In this week’s episode of Reflections of a Recovering Ugly Duckling, I share four common excuses I’ve made for not pursuing my dreams. If any of these resonate with you, you might be selling your opportunity to achieve a feeling of purposeful achievement short.

So, what’d you think? Have you been trapped by any of those excuses? Share in the comments some of your biggest potential opportunities missed because you made excuses for not pursuing them.

Each week I share another (hopefully) inspirational message to encourage and support you. If you’d like me to e-mail you a reminder when a new episode is published (every Tuesday morning), just fill in your name and e-mail below. I’ll take care of the rest.

Communicate Your Goals & Their Impact on Others

As much as we might wish the people closest to us (those living in our homes with us) could read our minds and our intentions… that just isn’t the case.

And as much as we’d like the people closest to us to support us in achieving our greatest dreams, oftentimes they don’t know what our dreams are OR how the changes in our actions will impact them.

In this week’s video, I share some thoughts on how to share with the people in your household about the changes you are making (so you can achieve your goals) AND how they can expect to be impacted by those changes.

Open and honest conversations will help you all have greater understanding of what’s going on. That will help you move forward with a lightness of heart that will help you keep moving toward your goals.

Ep043: Healthier Habits Starter Program – Debrief

In Episode 39, I shared my fears about a new program I would be offering to my audience. The program is called The Healthier Habits Starter Program. It is a 10-Day program to help people start adding one healthier habit to their daily routine. (To learn more or participate in this free program… visit www.donnadoyon.com/habits)

I had many doubts and fears about launching this program. The greatest fear was based on my insecurity about my own ability to attract people to attend. I was afraid I’d create this program (which I think is wonderful), but no one would participate.

Those doubts and fears tried their darnedest to keep me in my safe little bubble of dreams, protected from the possible cruelty of reality.

In this week’s episode of Reflections of a Recovering Ugly Duckling, I share what I learned during this roller coaster ride of emotional turmoil, demands upon my time, and dealing with tricky technology.

My head was spinning, my stomach was lurching, and my fists were clenched in terror.

One thing I know for certain… the person who finished the ride, was not the same person who climbed aboard that roller coaster.

The Big Leap

In goal setting, as in life, our mindset plays a huge part in our level of success. I’ve been reading the book “The Big Leap” by Gay Hendricks. It is a powerful read and has the potential to change lives if we let it.

In this week’s video I share an overview of the first couple of chapters. I cannot do this book and the messages justice, but hopefully I make you curious enough to check it out for yourself.
